Will you help us end ovarian cancer?
Learn more about the woman who inspired the formation of Judy’s Mission Ovarian Cancer Foundation through her courage and desire to make a difference.
Because of the generosity of our donors and support from our community, Judy’s Mission has had the opportunity to fund numerous programs to fight ovarian cancer.
Although the women and men who make up our Board of Directors come from different walks of life and professions, they are all united for one cause.
The Judith Liebenthal Robinson Ovarian Cancer Foundation (Judy’s Mission Foundation) was founded in November 2010 to honor Judith Liebenthal Robinson, Ph.D. Judy, a NASA scientist, who despite habitual exercise and a consistently healthy diet, was diagnosed with advanced stage ovarian cancer and died within a year. While battling ovarian cancer, Judy determined something must be done to raise awareness regarding the vague signs and symptoms and ineffective screening tools for ovarian cancer.
Judy left us to accomplish her mission:
1) To educate the medical community as well as women on the signs, symptoms and the critical nature of early diagnosis of ovarian cancer
2) To fund research for effective screening and treatment of ovarian cancer
Donations will be used to meet the two foundation goals and further Judy’s Mission.
To fund research, donations will be directed to the Judith Liebenthal Robinson Endowment for Ovarian Cancer Research benefitting the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, other research programs and awarding research grants.
To increase awareness on risk factors and signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer, donations will be used to fund printing costs, advertisements, maintenance of a website and other innovative ways, such as, the development of curriculum on ovarian cancer for community health workers or being a sponsor to the “Teal Mobile” in the Houston Art Car Parade.
