Wheel to Survive 2018

Many thanks to Be The Difference Foundation, sponsors, participants and volunteers for raising more than $24,000 for Judy’s Mission and MD Anderson Cancer Center’s Ovarian Cancer Moon Shots Program through Wheel to Survive Houston 2018.  Since 2012, Be The Difference has hosted the relay style indoor cycling fundraiser across the country raising more than $2.6 million to benefit programs for women currently battling the disease and to provide research dollars for a cure.

Sunday, October 21 more than 90 riders gathered at DEFINE Body and Mind: Tanglewood for the community celebration of survivors and their families, the spirit of sisterhood and a ride in memory of those who have lost their battle against ovarian cancer.  Sponsors for the event include DEFINE: Tanglewood, Tesaro, Athleta, The Carfello Family and TLC Wealth Management.  The weather was great and attendees enjoyed visiting the outdoor vendors who gave back a percentage of sales to the event.  Thank you to vendors Rachel Huk and Michelle Phillips with Beautycounter, Kristen Zinser Smith with Stella and Dot and Kathy Jacobson with Scout and Cellar.

“Through the support we receive at Wheel to Survive, Be the Difference Foundation has been instrumental in providing the funds desperately needed for research,” said Jill Bach, President and Co-founder of Be the Difference Foundation and ten year survivor of ovarian cancer.  Bach formed Be the Difference Foundation in 2012 with three other  ovarian cancer survivors who wanted to “be the difference” in the fight against ovarian cancer by helping women increase their chances of survival.
